What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
I believe that as Early Childhood Educators it is our role to create an environment that allows children to enjoy, grow & thrive. These early years are full of so much learning & influence their future years.  It is vital a strong partnership is formed with the families as this is the only way they can leave their precious children in the care of other with confidence & peace of mind. Our environments need to be stimulating for the children as I believe true learning comes through fun & discovery. Stimulated, busy children equal happy thriving children. I believe that we need to nurture the children in our care & make them feel safe & loved. They need our time & attention for us to truly support them in their learning journey. These journeys are individual so we must get to know them before we can truly support them.  Educators are the true value of a service not what toys it can buy. If we can give them a love of learning, we have helped to set them up for a successful future.

What makes your centre different from others?
Our focus on our relationships with the families and the children is something that make us special. Our daily conversations to genuine interest in their family unit has seen this relationship has seen families stay with us for each of their children’s early childhood journey which has seen many of our relationship last for 10 years. We also value each of our team member which has meant they have stayed with our centre which the families also love.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
I feel that I am passionate about Early Education because I know that with my knowledge, my education and my experience I make a difference in a children's learning journey. I know that every child is unique, therefore we need to support and nurture them to allow them to grow and be the best they can be. I believe that I am passionate about what is beyond our centre, and provide the children with memorial experiences by building connections with the community.

What makes your centre different from others?
I believe that our centre is different from others as we have always taken the time to build strong lasting relationships with our families. Our families can count us for always putting their child’s needs and interests first. These relationships in which we have built, have seen families return again and again as their family grows. Our team of passionate and qualified educators take the time to build secure attachments with all of the children that enter the doors of Wyong Little Learners and provide a large variety of resources and experiences for children to engage with in our spacious learning environment for children to explore.

Name: Erin Wallace

Qualifications: Diploma in Children’s Services

Years in childcare: 12 years

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
In 2009 I volunteered my time to gain some work experience hours for my certificate 3 at Wyong little learners. I excepted some casual work which turned into a full-time position. In the 12 years at Wyong Little Learners I gained my diploma and became a mother which I grew into a dedicated Educator and taking on responsibility such as becoming a room leader. I’m passionate towards children and love being a part of their life, growth and development. I hope to leave a mark on each of their lives as well as their education just as I can remember my childhood and the teachers and educators who left a positive impact of my schooling life and education, this is the same impact and memory I hope to have on all the children in my care. I hope to help them realise not only education skills but also life values.

What makes your centre different from others?
In my opinion Wyong little learners is the best and safest childcare centre as we provide quality learning and support and facilitate the play process and provide children with a nurturing, safe environment for children to explore the world and life itself through leisure and play based learning with out fear or judgment. Our team of Educators and myself are the best quality of Educators that strive to be someone who children feel safe, secure and supported to be around, who they can build meaningful relationships with and be comfortable to act freely in our presence. We are positive role models and positivity impact all children even in the slightest way, this is what makes our centre stand out from the rest.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
As an Early Childhood Teacher, I am passionate about my role because of the impact I may have on how our young children grow and develop which will directly contribute towards their future success, endeavors, and lifelong learning. Childhood should be the most enjoyable and memorable time in their life. I want to ensure that they are given that right along with learning new things, discovering their individuality and becoming their best self. I find it very rewarding in knowing that I have helped a child achieve their goal, overcome their challenges, and celebrated their achievements. Caring for our young children is my passion.

How would you apply the national Quality Standards and EYLF for Educational Programming?
The National Quality Standards is the regulatory authority that promotes a high national benchmark for early childhood education and care services in Australia. I ensure that these standards are being met to maintain high quality service which promotes the safety, health, and wellbeing of the children in our care. Furthermore, we promote high quality service through effective communication with our families and community which enables us to create individualized learning programs for every child in our care. As the Educational Leader, I ensure that these educational programs are up to date through monthly audits to ensure the 7 quality areas are implemented and practiced as we aim to achieve an exceeding rating for our rating and assessment. Our educational program promotes stimulating, engaging and authentic experiences that enhances children’s learning and development which is implemented by our knowledgeable and professional educators. Additionally, our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework which is a document that our educators use to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school through play-based learning which provides opportunities for children to learn as they discover, create, improvise, and imagine. I utilize the EYLF to emphasize on the children’s sense of Belonging, Being and Becoming as they navigate through different stages of their learning and development. I ensure that diversity and multiculturalism is highlighted and acknowledged on the educational program by respecting multiple cultural ways of knowing, seeing, and living. We are constantly working towards striving for more and as the children grow and learn, we as Educators grow and learn with them as well.
